Uccelin Scholarship Programme

Our tailor-made scholarship programme is designed for young, exceptionally talented culinary and service enthusiasts, eager to gain hands-on experience with our international network of partner restaurants and producers.

Programme Organisation

It all begins with selecting your three restaurants and four producers – a process we guide you through personally. Once your choices are confirmed, we take care of the rest.

Accommodation

Throughout your scholarship programme, we provide full support and take care of all accommodation arrangements.

Transfers

To ensure smooth transitions between stages, we organise your flights and train journeys – so you can focus entirely on your experience.

Pocket Money

You will receive CHF 500 per month in pocket money to support your days off and personal expenses during the programme.

Health Insurance Reimbursement

In addition to your pocket money, we help covering the cost of your health insurance.

Certificate

Upon successful completion of your Uccelin programme, you will receive your certificate during your final days at Schloss Schauenstein.

How to apply

Please note: The application template is available on this website each year in March and September.

Application Phase

  • The application phase for our scholarship programme takes place twice a year – in March and in September. During these periods, applications can be submitted directly via this website.

  • Please note: Applicants who are not accepted must wait a full calendar year before reapplying.

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Prerequisites

  • Professional experience:
    At least 3 years of experience as a chef or service professional on top of a completed and officially accredited apprenticeship,
    or 5 years of relevant professional experience without an apprenticeship.

  • Maximum age at time of application:

    35 years

  • Motivation letter

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)

  • Application form
    (available here in March and September)

  • List of preferred restaurants and producers

  • School certificates and letters of recommendation
    (from your educational or professional background)

  • Overview of financial situation
    (e.g. list of assets or copy of most recent tax return)

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and presentation of the application

  • Presentation

  • Clarity and content of the motivation letter

  • Personal motivation and drive

  • Future ambitions and professional goals

  • Relevant work experience

  • Additional training or education

  • References and testimonials

  • Diversity of practical experience

  • Professional achievements and promotions

Final Requirements

  • Documentation of learning experience:
    Each scholarship holder is required to submit a written reflection (minimum 15 pages) or a short film documenting their personal learning journey by the end of the programme.

  • Product creation:
    At the end of the programme, each participant develops a product that reflects their experience and skills – with the aim of offering it in the Uccelin shop and contributing to the funding of future scholarships
